On the third Sunday every month the streets of the tiny town of Talbot, are closed to traffic and the entire town becomes a vibrant village market place. Soak up the atmosphere as you wander the beautiful heritage streetscape bustling with market stalls, visitors, locals, farmers and fossickers. Explore an evolving display of over 80 regional produce stalls, offering a wide range of organic and seasonal fruit and vegetables, artisan cheese, fresh bread, local wine, gourmet oils, homemade hot sauces, condiments, sweets and cakes, organic fresh meats and artisan cured charcuterie, honey, soaps and more. In true country farmers' market style you will also find live chooks, stockfeed, cut flowers, plants and seedlings.

The Talbot Farmers Market is one of Victoria’s best, providing visitors an authentic farmers market experience with livestock, real farmers and a friendly community spirit, where you can buy local, support small scale producers, makers and growers who are developing artisanal produce, developing sustainable future feeders. Sample fabulous food and wine, enjoy a coffee and a tasty bite to eat while listening to local artists playing live music in the street. Pick up a ticket for your chance to win the 'Barrow Raffle' overflowing with wonderful produce kindly donated by stall holders. Remember to bring your shopping bags or grab a gorgeous calico bag from the information marquee.
Talbot is just 40 minutes north of Ballarat or 90 minutes from Melbourne's Westgate Bridge and offers visitors amazing views of the central goldfields countryside. The Talbot Farmers Market supports local small-scale producers, providing them the opportunity to talk to their customers and for visitors to meet the people who produce our food. The Talbot Farmers Market provides a friendly and unique country experience in a beautiful part of regional Victoria. On your visit you will meet our fruit and vegetable growers, including Blackwood Orchards who grow Harcourt Apples, strawberries and amazing cherries in the Summer. Raspberries and blueberries come from Yarra Valley Berries who sell frozen fruit during the off season and vibrant, juicy fruit in Summer. Spring Gully Organics have an amazing selection of vegetables, like purple cauliflower, rainbow chard, blue kale and other speciality heirloom varieties that are rarely found. There’s Yendon Gourmet Tomatoes whose herbs are also so fresh and fragrant. Our lamb comes from Dunluce Lamb, while the beef and pork are from Zed & Co Freerange Farm. Zed & Co’s pork slaw rolls are to die for. Mr Salami has just that and Salute Olives provides a high-quality range of olive products from their farm in Boort. Our local family owned and run business Stoney Creek Oil provides, flax products, oil, seeds, flour and meal. Springmount Fine Foods has delicious tasting black garlic, vinaigrettes and fruit pastes. Gorgeous George Probiotics provides, all things for a healthy gut including Kombucha, tonics, sauerkrauts, hummus and tzatziki. Award winning Harmony Garlic keeps our colds away, while Vintage Kitchen Preserves has a large range of condiments, all made by hand from enthusiastic makers. There is wine tasting from our local Amherst Wines and Avonmore Estate Winery with their bio-dynamic wine and grape juice. Goldfield Farmhouse Cheeses provide amazing produce from their Friesian Holstein, Jersey and Goat herds. Our grain farmers include Burrum Bio-dynamic Farm who grow award winning lentils, barley and split peas and unique farming principles are renowned. Our sweets come from Cornish Cream Fudge, Celtic Bakery, Delicious Delicacies and handmade Turkish Delight from D’lightful. Artisan beer brewers, Shedshaker Brewery are our newbies from Castlemaine and handmade cordials from Harvest Moon will put a special zing in your next cocktail.

You won’t miss out on good quality coffee and there are plenty of hot food stalls with paella, Indian food, waffles, twisted potatoes, homemade sausage rolls and pies, dumplings and Asian food, gourmet sausage sandwiches and gozleme.
