Water Wheel Vineyards

03 5437 3060 Food & Drink - Cellar Door & Wineries Bridgewater on Loddon

The wines are diverse - some rich and robust, others elegant and complex. They’re a wonderful expression of a locally grown and produced tipple.

Description

Water Wheel Vineyards have been making wines in Bridgewater since 1974. Specialising in Shiraz, the winery produces ten different varietals, both red and white.

The late 1980’s saw a local change of ownership to the Cumming family, who have been farming in the area for nearly 100 years.

A badly kept secret about great wines is that it comes from good grapes, grown in good soil. After the grapes have been grown and picked, they are brought into the winery to mature in style, down in the cellar, before being bottled and labelled on site. The bottles are shipped out to the Loddon community, surrounding places and farther afield to overseas markets. A big journey for a grape grown in sunny Bridgewater.

The cellar door is open 7 days a week during the peak times of year and offers a haven for tasting all of our wines at a relaxed pace. It is set close to the banks of the Loddon river, surrounded by lush grass and vines, it’s a wonderful place for a picnic or bbq with a bottle of wine!

A high quality, fully locally produced product is a rare find anywhere in the world, but particularly special when it is a bottle of Water Wheel wine from Bridgewater.
